Catron County Fair
Purpose: To encourage senior 4-H and FFA members in Catron County to further education past high school.
Board of Trustees: The board will consist of the Catron County Fair Association members with the County Agent as an ex-efficio member.
Appropriations: All expenditures and investments must be approved by the Board of Trustees. The recipient shall be announced at the Catron County Fair.
Application: A student must be a senior (current year graduate) and currently enrolled in 4-H or FFA and have their State Farmer degree or current record book. An application consists of the student writing a letter, in resume form, stating the number of years in 4-H or FFA, offices held, activities they have participated in, other organizations they have been a member of, what college or trade school they plan to attend, and what field of study they plan to major in. They must also state why they would like this scholarship. Deadline to apply is July 31, 2021. The money will be paid to the student upon receiving proof of registration to the continuing education school of their choice. This is a one year (two semester) award, payable in $250.00 increments each semester, contingent upon verification as a full-time student.
Selection Process: All applicants and record books should be received at the Catron County Extension Office by the last working day of July. Applicants should have a minimum of three years as a Senior 4-Her and be a graduating or graduated senior candidate. If no eligible applications are received, the money will be restored to the general fund.
